The Journey's Mission is to provide safe and nurturing environments for young adults who have aged out of chaos. These young adults are aged 18-26 and fall through the gaps in the system. The Journey is here to help those young adults Rest - Release - Respond to their spiritual, physical, relational, emotional and intellectual experiences. The Journey will be there for their Journey.
Rest- in a relaxed and comfortable state (know that they are in a safe place where they are unconditionally loved!)
Release -a way of dealing with and getting rid of unpleasant emotions, feelings, etc. (as a young person goes through a/ several traumatic events, they are stunted in maturity, causing a lack in judgment in all areas of life. They must work on the hurt & learn to heal.)
Respond - to have a good or desired reaction to something (take steps moving forward to create a healthy life - church, school, work, volunteering, positive activities - that produces healthy relationships.
TENDER LOVING CARE
One Heart at a time
One Heart at a time to be exposed to the Love of Christ!
The Journey provides unconditional love to young adults (18-26)!
Aspiring to move them from isolation to fellowship.
Fellowship is everything! While Learning to have positive relationships we understand there will be hugs needed, a shoulder to lean on and we make these moments commonplace. We work to share exposures, experiences and opportunities with each young adult. With our programs we will work together on getting those missing or misplaced pieces of your life in place, to help you move forward positively

“Everything that is done in the world is done by hope”
After being in a host home for one week, “I now can sleep through the entire night. I have not done that in years.”
Three years after moving into her own residence and attending family function out of state for a weekend, “I enjoyed spending the weekend with the family that chose me.”
Quote of The day
"Don't block out the people who love you"
Pastor Paul Offhaus
St John Lutheran Church
I am happy to see St. John serving as a host congregation for The Journey. It’s a natural fit, since ‘Mama Windy’ and her family have been long-time members here. In addition, The Journey’s desire to provide for the spiritual, physical, relational, emotional and intellectual needs of young adults fits well with our mission statement to live as neighbors to those around us. Finally, the three movements of Rest, Release, and Respond reflect the natural journey of a disciple of Jesus. Jesus says, “Come to me, all you that are weary and carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). As we enter into the rest our Savior provides, we are invited to release the burdens of not only sin and guilt, but also shame and sadness, despair and depression that many young adults today encounter in their life’s journey. Through the very real forgiveness God offers us in Christ Jesus, we can be renewed and set free to respond to the God’s invitation to participate in the Church’s great mission to see God’s kingdom come, God’s will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. If you are a young adult reading this, know that you will always find a warm and genuine welcome here at St. John!
